When booking company headshots, it’s important to ensure consistency across all photos. A uniform style helps maintain a professional brand image and ensures your team looks cohesive across websites, LinkedIn, and marketing materials.  The images below are from a company event, please note the consistency across all the images.  Here’s what to consider when organizing a company-wide headshot session…

Consistency
Decide on the background, lighting, and framing that best represents your brand. Whether it’s a clean white backdrop, an office setting, or an outdoor look, sticking to one style creates a unified appearance across all employee headshots. Also, it’s important to frame all your employees consistently. You don’t want some employees with three-quarter-length body shots and others with a head-and-shoulders headshot.

Having a Suitable Space
To ensure better results, have a dedicated space with enough room for proper lighting and equipment. Ideally, this should be a quiet area with good natural or studio lighting to avoid inconsistent shadows or distractions.  A conference room with a large table in the middle is usually a bad idea.

Plan for Employee Availability
Schedule time slots to minimize disruptions while ensuring every employee gets their photo taken. If some employees work remotely, consider a designated day for them to come in or arrange a secondary session.

Communicate Guidelines in Advance
To maintain consistency, provide employees with guidelines on attire, grooming, and any necessary preparations. Neutral or company-branded colors often work best for a polished and professional look.

Having a Test Subject
Once your designated area is prepped and the lighting is setup, having someone who can be a great test subject is always a plus.  The lighting can be corrected for the room and any other adjustments can be made to make sure there is a consistent look from one person to the next.
